About the Hub

Bridging the gap between academic research and real-world CSR challenges.

The CSR Science Hub is dedicated to understanding the societal impact of public CSR communication — bridging knowledge and practice.

The Hub is led by researchers from the Communication Science Department at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It brings together experts across the social sciences to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world CSR challenges.

The Hub offers a dynamic space where scholars stay connected to the evolving needs of practice, ensuring their work remains relevant and impactful. At the same time, communication professionals gain direct access to cutting-edge research, giving them valuable insights and a strategic advantage in the field.

How we work

At the CSR Science Hub, we take a hands-on, collaborative approach. We bring together academic researchers and real-world professionals from all over Europe to share ideas, learn from each other, and improve how things are done.

That means our research questions come from practice as often as they come from the literature, and our findings are written up for the people who need to act on them — not only for other academics. By combining scientific knowledge with practical experience, we create better tools and stronger theories to support responsible and sustainable practices.

Where we sit

The Hub is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, based at the De Boelelaan campus in Amsterdam-Zuid.
